We welcomed our sweet Sophie Beatrice Nickel on May 19, 2011 and what an utter joy she has been! She looked alot like Big Sister when she was born and as she grows she continues to look like her. She is nursing well and sleeping well and as far as I'm concerned, she is the perfect baby! Her sister is very 'mothering' to her, sometimes a little too much and we were delighted to see that so far, Baby Sophie has not prompted any jealousy out of her sister, only kindness and love! We are so lucky to have such sweet babies:-)
I look at Baby Sophie and i'm reminded of how many of God's promises that are tied up in this one tiny package. His promise that He knew her before she was born (Jeremiah 1) and that He was the one that knit her together in the womb (Psalm 139:13). His promise that His righteousness will be with her from everlasting to everlasting because we fear Him (Psalm 103) and that He will be her place of refuge (prov 14). His promise that He will teach her and she will walk in peace (Isaiah 54). His promise that He will pour out His blessing upon her (isaiah 44, 61, 65) and finally, His promise that if we show her the way to go, she will not depart from it. (prov 22)....Thank you Lord for these promises and we will stand strong on them and watch as you fufill them in the life of our youngest...
